  1. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?

The brain plays a very significant role in the development of children and adolescents. It is the part of our body that enables us to think, it stores information and allows us to feel emotions. As it continually develops, it readies a child in a more complex environment. Therefore, it is important that we, the parents, provide our children an environment that would nurture their brains to develop to its full potential.

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?

As children grow and become teenager, their brains continue to grow and change. These changes affect how a he/she thinks and behaves. During adolescents, the brain remodels intensively, and it is in this crucial stage that parents or guardian should involve themselves in shaping and influencing their children, such as the environment they are into, the music they listen to, setting limit and boundaries and other things that you see will help in the positive development of your adolescent. It is also by this age that the front part of the brain, also called the prefrontal cortex starting to develop. It is the part of the brain that is responsible in decision making. Hence, it is very important that you strengthen their support system such as encouraging empathy, emphasizing immediate and long term consequences of their actions as well as promoting your child to develop decision making.

    Please answer the following:

    1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?

    Answer:

    1. The significance of the brain in children and adolescents development in which tend to be more aware on how they think and act within their depth development organs. Meaning as they think and act they more be careful and on what to say and do. But, aside of it is when extreme when they more talking of carefree on what to do and to say. It is dependable on the brain development of a child and adolescents. Child is more pickle minded than the adolescent which they are more into peer pressure as they decide on different matters in their life.
    2. The Brain affect the development of children and adolescents by the use of educating the people around them so that the way of thinking and knowledge wise were based on educational purpose. The brain transmits to the nerve or neurons the ideas which was accepted by the cerebrum and the cerebellum outcast the brain cells so it means that the child is more naïve than the adolescents who are exploring the world today.

    1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?
    Answer:
1.The function of the brain is to exert centralized control over the other organs of the body. The brain acts on the rest of the body both by generating patterns of muscle activity and by driving the secretion of chemicals called hormones. The area of brain growth during adolescence centers on the frontal lobe. This is the control center for “executive functions” such as planning, impulse control and reasoning. If something is not functioning well in the part of the brain there is also possibilities that there might abnormalities in the development.

    2. It affects mostly for the control of body organs and secretion of hormones. The brain must have its normal function and capability in order for the child to develop his normal pattern of development from infancy to adolescent to adulthood. If the brain does not function well it serve as a big hindrance in child normal development. Some brain changes happen before adolescents, while some continue after. Brain change depends on age, experience and hormonal changes in puberty. The front part of the brain, the prefrontal cortex, is developed last. The prefrontal cortex is the decision-making part of the brain, responsible for your child’s ability to plan and think about the consequences of their actions, control impulses and solve problems. Changes in this part continue into early adulthood. Because the prefrontal cortex is still developing, teenagers possibly rely on a part of the brain called the amygdala to make decisions and solve problems more than adults do. The amygdala is associated with emotions, impulses, aggression and instinctive behavior.

  4. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescent development?
Our brain plays very significant role in children and adolescents development. The brain enables us to see, hear, remember, think, feel, speak, dream and receives information. It maintains vital bodily functions. It helps track of the external world. It controls the muscles and glands. the brain responds to current needs. It creates the magic of consciousness. The brain also regulates its own behavior. The brain is the control system of our body. Without our brain and its functions, we cannot grow and development well.

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescent?
The brain is the control system of our body. The brain is the absorber of everything. It helps us respond to our environment. It helps us embrace all the positive and negative things that happen to us. The brain is responsible for our development. If one's person does not have healthy brain, then it will not function properly. All our system will not be able to response properly and our growth will be affected. If one's person does have healthy brain, then all of our system and glands will function and produce hormones that help in our proper growth and development.

  5. 1.what is the significance of the brain in children and adolescent development?
it is significant because it allows individuals to track mental developments especially from childhood to adolescent period, the brain offers a way to understand how intellectual abilities and the behavioral maturity of a person at different age levels, the brain is also considered the central processing unit (CPU) of the body without which the body will not function properly, it is responsible for all the senses and organs in the body, and in-order for these senses and organs to function the brain needs to send signals which makes a sense or an organ fucntion to address the needs of the body

2.how does the brain affects the development of children and adolescents?
growth and change are integral part of childhood and adolescents, the brain along with the height, weight and hormones goes thru dramatic changes in order to cope up with the needs of the body, while outward changes are easily seen the brain develops inside it deepens its reasoning and ability which results to explaining why or how we do what we do same as differentiate from what is right from wrong as time goes by the brain matures the reasoning gets deeper and deeper upto the stage where we can solve problems and do situational analysis.

  6. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
It has been discovered that the first six years of one’s life is significant for the brain to develop fully. Most importantly Montessori’s vision applies to brain development. There is new research that coincides with the discovery that the foundation of neural structures in the frontal lobes of the human brain isn’t fully developed until approximately the age of twenty-four. This states that the brain continually develops and that adults and parents who provide the immediate environment of the child can do something to make this experience positive. In order to achieve this full potential a human being needs interaction with the immediate environment and sensorial awareness. This is evident with the child’s growing independence, coordinated movements, language and developed will (Lillard and Jessen, 2003).

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?
The two systems – the one processing pleasure and the other regulating impulses – learn to work together. “This allows for better coordination of thinking and feeling,” explained Steinberg. “Which is important in controlling impulsive behavior or resisting peer pressure.” This can have a big effect on how parents understand their children. “It’s important for parents to realize that teenagers may not be as good as adults in thinking ahead, envisioning the future consequences of their actions, resisting pressure from others and forgoing immediate rewards to get a bigger payoff,” Steinberg noted. Which is why parents understanding and caring for their children is very important to their development. They will always need guidance in part of growing up for them to have a better development mentally, socially, spiritually, and physically.

  7. 1.Children’s brains have a massive growth spurt when they’re very young. By the time they’re six, their brains are already about 90-95% of adult size. But the brain still needs a lot of remodeling before it can function as an adult brain. This brain remodeling happens intensively during adolescence, continuing into a child’s mid-20s. Some brain changes happen before puberty, and some continue long after. Brain change depends on age, experience and hormonal changes in puberty. So even though all teenagers’ brains develop in roughly the same way at the same time, there are differences among individual teenagers. For example, if your child started puberty early, this might mean that some of your child’s brain changes started early too.

2.The brain is the main receiver, absorber and storage of everything that is happening inside our body. The brain is responsible for our development. It is a foundation for many of the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional difficulties. The experiences of infancy and early childhood provide the organizing framework for the expression of children's intelligence, emotions, and personalities. When those experiences are primarily negative, children may develop emotional, behavioral, and learning problems that persist throughout their lifetime, especially in the absence of targeted interventions.
The combination of child’s unique brain and environment influences the way a child acts, thinks and feels. For example, your child’s preferred activities and skills might become ‘hard-wired’ in the brain.
So it’s worth thinking about the range of activities and experiences a child is into – music, sports, study, languages, and video games. How are these shaping the sort of brain your child takes into adulthood? We are an important part of a child’s environment. As adult we mean a lot to a child. How we guide and influence them will be important in helping our children to build a healthy brain.

  8. 1.) What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?

The human brain is the command center for the human nervous system. It allows us to continue to learn, remember, and adapt to new circumstances (Ackerman, 2007). In children, the growth in each region of the brain largely depends on receiving stimulation, which spurs activity in that region. This stimulation provides the foundation for learning. Researchers use the term plasticity to describe the brain's ability to change in response to repeated stimulation. The developing brain's ongoing adaptations are the result of both genetics and experience. Studies show that the brain continues to grow and develop into young adulthood. Right before puberty, adolescent brains experience a growth spurt that occurs mainly in the frontal lobe, which is the area that governs planning, impulse control, and reasoning.
Another change that happens during adolescence is the growth and transformation of the limbic system, which is responsible for our emotions. Teenagers may rely on their more primitive limbic system in interpreting emotions and reacting, since they lack the more mature cortex that can override the limbic response (Chamberlain, 2009).

2.) How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?

Brains affects maturity rate in each individual. Therefore each individual reach puberty at different ages and our emotional maturity at different times as well. In a school set-up a classroom full of students who are about the same age doesn’t mean they are equally ready to learn a particular topic, concept, skill or idea. It is important for teachers and parents to understand that maturation of the brain influences learning readiness. As teachers, this is especially an important consideration when designing lessons and selecting which strategies to use.

  9. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
The brain is a very significant part in the development of children and adolescents. The brain is the control center of the body as a whole and this is where the full development of a person relies. Scientists have identified a specific region of the brain called the amygdala which is responsible for instinctual reactions including fear and aggressive behavior. This region develops early. However, the frontal cortex, the area of the brain that controls reasoning and helps us think before we act, develops later. This part of the brain is still changing and maturing well into adulthood. Other specific changes in the brain during adolescence include a rapid increase in the connections between the brain cells and pruning (refinement) of brain pathways. Nerve cells develop myelin, an insulating layer which helps cells communicate.

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?
Children and adolescents’ brains function differently than adults when decision-making and problem solving. Their actions are guided more by the amygdala and less by the frontal cortex. Research has also demonstrated that exposure to drugs and alcohol before birth, head trauma, or other types of brain injury can interfere with normal brain development during adolescence.
Based on the stage of their brain development, adolescents are more likely to act on impulse, misread or misinterpret social cues and emotions, get into accidents of all kinds, get involved in fights, engage in dangerous or risky behavior and they are less likely to think before they act, pause to consider the potential consequences of their actions, modify their dangerous or inappropriate behavior.
These brain differences don’t mean that young people can’t make good decisions or tell the difference between right and wrong. It also doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be held responsible for their actions. But an awareness of these differences can help parents, teachers, advocates, and policy makers understand, anticipate, and manage their behavior.

1.Brain, the commander-in-chief of our body. The human body cannot function without the brain. Our body may stay alive with the heart being pumped artificially, but it won't be able to bat an eyelid if the brain stops working. We are all born with a brain that is almost developed. There are many wires and connections within the brain that are connected and functional only during the infancy and toddler stages. Brain development occurs due to the genes and environment of the growing child. The inherited gift (genes) of the child makes the structure of the brain possible, but it is a healthy diet and external stimulation of the surroundings that gets the brain connected in the most efficient way.
2.The Brain can affect the development of children and adolescent differently in understanding emotions ,, thinking critically ,decision and problem solving.
Growth and change are an integral part of adolescence. Studies on the brain during the last decade show that it -- along with height, weight and hormones --goes through dramatic changes during the middle school years. While outward changes are easy to see, brain development goes much deeper, but it can go far in explaining how and why your child does what he does.Communication is always the key .Change is exciting, and adolescence is certainly filled with it. But just because your adolescent child is willful, reckless, and moody, doesn't mean there's no rhyme or reason to their behavior. Knowledge about brain development can help parents understand the behaviors and abilities of this age group, and work with their kids to grow together.

  11. Q. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
    A. Brain is the most important parts of our body. Brain is the one who control all our body parts, it is the reason why we can use our senses and why we are able move. It is significant because brain has our future. If the brain is damage it will reflect on our body it can be mentally, emotionally, physically.

    Q. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?
    A. Brain can affect the development of a children and adolescents because it is the leader of our body. If our brain is damage the one who will suffer is our development capabilities. It can cause disability, emotional problems or it can cause our death. That's why we should take care of our brain, it our leader if our brain is gone or damage the team or the body will not be able to perform well.

  12. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?

    Answers:
    1. The brain is comprised of many regions that perform specific functions, such as identifying what we see, processing spoken language, or assessing whether we are in danger. Within each of these brain areas are millions of neurons, or nerve cells, which send messages to each other across synapses. These trillions of nerves and synapses and the pathways they form make up the "wiring" of the brain; they allow all of the various areas to communicate and function together in a coordinated way. The number and organization of connections in the brain influence everything from the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet to facility at managing complex social relationships. Children's brain mature significantly before birth or age 2, it is also of great vulnerability. The brain is shaped by genes and experiences and how they interact with each other. It is particularly sensitive to environmental influences such as toxic and early stress. It may also be affected through the sensing pathways by sound , touch, vision, smell, thoughts and other factors.

    2. Child’s experiences in his first years greatly influence how his brain will develop and how he will interact in the world. The parents play an important role in providing the nurturing and stimulation that children require. If child’s brain is well developed, he is most likely to live a happy and normal life and will continue as he grows older.

  13. 1. What is the significance of the brain in children and adolescents development?
Answer: The brain has all the building blocks for the child's capacities to retain and use new information, focus attention, control impulses and make plans during early childhood phase.

    2. How does the brain affect the development of children and adolescents?
Answer: An infant's brain has connections that allow her to hear sounds from all languages in the world. During the early years, the brain strengthens connections for sounds in the languages she hears regularly. Over time, the brain eliminates the connections for other sounds. This is why most adults have trouble distinguishing sounds that are not in our language.

  14. 1) Brain plays an important role in development of children and adolescents; it helps them cope with the activities done in schools, because most of the bodily functions of a person are controlled by the brain. It coordinates with all the senses of the body, which are essential for learning and development.

    2) Brain controls the physical and hormonal activities of the body, in development. Hormones are big factor for them; it helps them grow bigger, stronger, and wiser. Brain (parts of it) release hormones for growth. It also processes everything on the environment, as what the senses perceive.
