  1. 1. Describe children's rights in your own words.

Children’s rights are the basic human rights of children particularly the right to live, food, shelter, health care and education. However, the list of their rights does not only consists of providing them their basic physiological needs. Children being emotionally and mentally young, they are susceptible to abuse. Hence, it is very important that they’ll be given special protection from different forms of abuse.

    2. How can these rights help in their development?

It is essential that us parents and the government as well, ensure that the rights of our children are accorded to them because this will promote and guarantee the development of the child’s physical, mental and social well-being, and most likely, the child who has enjoyed his rights and has been protected from all sorts of abuse will suitably develop under a favorable condition.

    3. As teachers, how can you protect the rights of these children in order to assist them in their development?

Children are spending more days in school - with their teacher, than at home. This fact puts every teacher in a perfect position to educate her students about their rights. Seeking dialogue with the child’s parents is a also a good way of upholding their rights because the very act of inculcating to parents the rights of their child will make a difference on how they view the importance of playing their role in making sure that their child’s rights are protected and respected.
Teachers can also be a catalyst to change by advocating children's rights within their school or even in their community.

  12. 1 Describe children's rights in your own words

Children’s rights are human rights specifically adapted to the child because they take into account his fragility, specificity and age-appropriate needs.

Children’s rights take into account the necessity of development of the child. The children thus have the right to live and to develop suitably physically and intellectually.

Children’s rights plan to satisfy the essential needs for a good development of the child, such as the access to an appropriate implementation, to necessary care, to education, etc.

Children’s rights consider the vulnerable character of the child. They imply the necessity to protect them. It means to grant a particular assistance to them, and to give a protection adapted to their age and to their degree of maturity.

2 How can this Rights help in their development?

their rights as human beings will help them to become better citizens of the future. they will also be the ones to ensure that the children of their era will receive the same rights as they did

  13. 1) Children’s rights are the things that children needed for their survival, growth and development in order to become an essential part of the society. These include their right for education, love, and safety from harm, etc. Without these rights children would not be able to develop well, they will have fear in life, and soon as they grow they will not contribute well to the community.
    2) With these rights implemented to children, they will be able to practice more their cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, and become a master of their own knowledge, and will become an essential part of society. They will not need to live in a doomed life just like in other places in the world especially in third world countries in which children are working and punish hard. Without these rights, children are more prone to abuse which serves as hindrance to their development.
    3) School is the second home of student/children as many says, so as a teacher I will play a role as their very supporting parent to them; teach them physically, emotionally, and cognitively the essentials in life, open their minds in preparation for their future. But things that would be teaching to them should be filtered, because children are easy to believe on things. But as a teacher you cannot do it alone, you will also need the cooperation of parents, I will not only teach the children, but also the parents.

  14. 1. Describe children's rights in your own words.
Children, just as any other human being, has their own rights. They are not a possession of anybody, nor are they pets or slaves. They are entitled to be given respect, to be given love, care, attention. It is their right to be provided of education, home, family, friends, and what they need. To be nurtured and protected, to be taught, be free, and to be loved.

    2. How can these rights help in their development?
These rights can help children develop because I think children develop rapidly and learn quickly when they are talked to, when they are touched, when they feel loved and secured, even when they play and interact with family also with other people. Without these rights, none of the things I've mention will be possible. These rights could help in their holistic development.

    3. As teachers, how can you protect the rights of these children in order to assist them in their development?
As teachers, we have to understand our role in the classroom not just as a facilitator of learning, but also as a second parent. We have to put the child's welfare in importance. Our responsibility, not just to teach academically but also to improve their personalities and we can do this by simply guiding them to be better individuals. We can protect their rights, by first and foremost, implementing them in our own classrooms. As teachers, we should practice giving them their right to be educated, to be guided, to be protected, to be heard. We have to give our students importance as to make sure they are developing well, along side with their parents.
